Hi, my name is Shelagh McFarlane & I am running for Councilor - Ward 3.
Some of you know me from The Kincardine Theatre Guild or from my gym, Silver Lake Fitness. For the past 2 years, I have been writing my first book, “Shining the Light on Municipal Politics”. Bruce County has gone through some very drastic changes since Mulroney signed Canada to the United Nation’s Agenda 21 in 1992. The implementation happened in Kincardine shortly thereafter. The agenda was implemented in 3 stages: 1. incorporate local governments through amalgamation; 2. create both a public & private governing tier system; and 3. create the Municipal Act, 2001 outlining what these new tiers can & can not do. This is why we saw: · mayor secret meetings; · councilors silenced & ineffective; · public assets sold without our knowledge; · huge infrastructure projects made in secret - privately owned but publically funded. Here’s what’s coming: · bigger secret meetings; · a bigger nuclear waste site - Pickering & Darlington are decommissioned by 2020. And owned by OPG; · More pipeline contract breaches – this natural gas one could involve LOCAL fracking; · More turbines even though the science is flawed & Kincardine could be facing huge law suits. Your next Ward 3 councilor MUST: · immediately report secret meetings – they ARE against the law; · carefully read AND understand every document presented & REFUSE them on the public record if they are fudged, forged or unsigned; and · demand an independent, forensic audit on all the corporate books. We have no idea what else has been hidden. My research shows that if a previous councilor did not report on the secrecy before, they are not strong enough to sit at the table for this next round. I am. We have a duty to protect our lake & each other. I would be honoured to work with, and for, YOU. On October 27th, vote Shelagh McFarlane as your councilor for ward 3. Thank you. 2009- The Province of Ontario - Ministry of Transportation told Shelagh that her sign permit for her new restaurant would be another 5 weeks - everyone at MTO was on holidays in July & August.
Shelagh had full-time staff & several public school kids waiting to start earning money for the summer. There were also 2 trailer parks full of campers (Silver Lake T&T & Fishermen's Cove) & BlackHorse Golf Course patrons waiting for the little restaurant to open. Refusing to wait any longer over administrative nonsense, she took matters in to her own hands - she put on her bikini, threw on some music & let passing traffic know she was OPEN. She had the permit within 2 days. "This wasn't just for me - the whole community was waiting for fresh cut fries & soft ice cream! "There was absolutely no reason to take 2 months for a signature - they sure took my application money right away." Article found at: http://independent.on.ca/site/?q=node/646 |
